Lighting in a typical business consumes 20-40% of the overall electric bill. In a success story featured by EnergySmart in Boulder County, the lighting consumed around 30% of the overall electric costs for the Kansas Avenue Office Park in Longmont. The Etkin Johnson Group has always been interested in upgrading the lighting in the property they manage at the Kansas Avenue Office Park, but during the tough economic times the overall project cost was not feasible.

With EnergySmart’s assistance, the Etkin Johnson Group received a free energy assessment and assistance in finding all available incentives. Etkin Johnson Group, as managers for the property owners, received $10,000 in local rebates. The building is anticipated to save approximately $2,300 per year on energy costs.
