: Getting Green Off The Ground – Unlocking The Financial Key

This presentation will feature local case studies that demonstrate how commercial energy efficiency financing can help you close the deal. Elevations Credit Union and US Bank loan programs will be featured to demonstrate their green financing opportunities for construction projects and how Guild members and small businesses can benefit. Leverage below market interest rates for your business customers offering them a low risk high return investment. Case studies from Boulder and Denver will be presented.

Representatives from the Denver Energy Challengewill highlight a commercial case study from Post Modern Company, a film and video production company in Denver. He will discuss what commercial projects were completed, and the unique financing mechanism that made solar possible at their location.

Jeremy Lauffenburger is a Sustainability Advisor with the City and County of Denver’s Denver Energy Challenge and Certifiably Green Denver. Jeremy has worked as an advisor to both residential and commercial customers and enjoys the problem-solving nature of efficiency work in general and relating a solution to any client. Since earning his business degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Jeremy continues to broaden his knowledge base with coursework in building analysis, mechanics and behavioral science, all with the focus of sustainable practices. As a Sustainability Advisor, Jeremy works with a variety of business types and sizes in order to facilitate projects that reduce energy and water consumption as well as waste generation and diversion costs.

Doug Priest, Business Banker US Bank- Douglas has a depth of

business knowledge not often found in an individual. As a graduate of the University
of California, Davis, Douglas has drawn from his university education to launch several
start-up businesses in diversified business sectors ranging from energy efficiency to
farming. He has been awarded a sustainable building product patent, State and Federal
grants in excess of $5 million and received start-up funding from private investors. In
his current position as a Business Banking Officer for US Bank, Douglas provides a
complete banking service which helps his clients move seamlessly up the ladder of
business success.

Jeremy Epstein is the Energy Efficiency and Finance Specialist for Boulder County. Hehas been the acting project lead on the development of this loan program for close to a year, in addition to managing various aspects of the commercial EnergySmart program.
Before coming to Energysmart, Jeremy worked as a project manager for a green construction and remodel company as well as a consultant in developing green building programs for a leading firm out of Portland.
