Identifying priority issues for 2012 and strategies to ensure an informed membership.

Mission
To be a conduit through which the BGBG supports and develops quality legislation in furtherance of its mission

Goals

  • Establish networks of internal and external advocates
  • Develop relationships with other non-profit orgs, businesses, organized stakeholder groups, and governmental agencies
    • e.g. NARI, NAHB, GEO, KBA, AIA, lobbyists, lobbying organizations, unions, etc
  • Develop relationships with legislators and policymakers at city, county, and state levels that are key allies to the green building industry
  • Develop internal database of BGBG members with key interests who can be mobilized for events, hearings, and public comment periods
  • Develop, support, and challenge legislation essential to the green building industry
  • Become known as a "watchdog" for green building industry legislation
  • Become the policymakers’ "go-to organization” for reviewing, recommending, and giving shape to green building industry legislation
  • Educate and inform BGBG members of upcoming legislation of interest
