Off Grid and Grid-tied Battery Systems

Generate your own energy using a solar photovoltaic (PV) array and maximize your solar energy self-consumption using a solar storage battery. This presentation will discuss the benefits of alternative solar storage batteries, including Nickel Iron and Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries. The presentation will also explain the differences in system equipment and set-up between grid-tie solar, grid-tie with battery backup, grid backup, and off-grid systems.

Timna Zemel began her journey into the Renewable Energy industry with an Environmental Economics & Policy degree from UC Berkeley. Since then, she has worked on both grid-tie solar and battery-based solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. Timna interned at SunPower, worked at Sunrun, and most recently gained her battery-based PV system expertise at Iron Edison Battery Company, where she is employed as a systems designer and Senior Sales Representative
