The Living Building Challenge is a building certification program, advocacy tool, and philosophy that defines the most advanced measure of sustainability in the built environment possible today and acts to rapidly diminish the gap between current limits and the end-game positive solutions we seek. This presentation provides an introduction to the Living Building Challenge and an overview of its 20 imperatives.
Victoria-Herrero Garcia from Ambient Energy will also discuss some lessons learned from the start of a local LBC residence project, and Scott Rodwin of Rodwin Architecture will be available to answer questions about his current LBC project as well.

Learning Objectives:

·        Understand how the Petals and Imperatives work within the Living Building Challenge Certification

·        Identify Scale Jumping and how it can be incorporated with a project

·        Repeat the steps involved in the certification process

·        Understand the difference between a prescriptive and performance certification path
