This inaugural Earth Day celebration will include presentations of high performance products by Panda Doors and Alpen, a special presentation from Larry Kinney on high quality, energy-efficient greenhouses, and an installation workshop. Followed by Earth Day-focused happy hour.

Presentations of high-performance, energy efficient products such as doors, windows, louvres, film, greenhouses, and more from Larry Kinney, Alison Ray and Cindy Singleton of Alpen, and Chris Osborne from Panda Doors. This will include an installation workshop and a special presentation in celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of Earth Day.

Happy Hour at Alpen will follow from 5-7pm.

Alison Ray is a Senior Sales Representative at Alpen High Performance Products, a Colorado-based manufacturer of advanced, super-insulating fiberglass windows and architectural glass.  Alison holds a B.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Vermont where she received honors recognition for thesis work in green roof construction.  Her interests in ecological design and green building are influenced by experiences studying abroad during her study of indigenous perspectives on environmental issues and while training to be a certified permaculture design apprentice in Brazil. Prior to Alpen HPP, Alison gained experience in high performance home design and construction while working as a Project Manager at Ecofutures Building, a nationally-recognized leader in net-zero energy home design and construction, and later as a Technical Sales Engineer at Serious Energy.

 

 

Cindy Singleton is the Account Specialist, Architectural Specialist, Technical Sales and Service for Alpen High Performance Products, a Colorado-based manufacturer of advanced, super-insulating fiberglass windows and architectural glass.  She has been in the window industry for many years and most recently with the Alpen Colorado team for over 5 years.  Prior to that, she was an Architectural Representative for Sierra Pacific Windows and worked for Pella in commercial, residential and architectural sales.

Cindy has been involved in the installation of windows in buildings through the years and completed the Installation Masters training with honors.  She has done a variety of installation clinics for architects as well as builders on jobsites.  She consults with architects and designers on how the windows and doors integrate into the building envelope.

 

Chris Osborne is the owner of Frontier Window and Door Company in Steamboat Springs. Exclusively representing Panda Windows and Doors for all of Colorado, providing sales, consulting and installation. Directly after graduating high school on the coast of Maine, Chris moved to Colorado to study marketing and business management at Colorado Mountain College. With over 25 years of experience in the window and door industry, Chris specializes in custom fenestration with an emphasis on large openings and energy efficient solutions. Areas of expertise include but are not limited to, lift & slide doors, folding doors, operable wall systems, with thermally broken aluminum components.

Larry Kinney is President and CTO of Synergistic Building Technologies, a research and development company in Boulder specializing in systems that achieve energy efficiency in buildings. A few years ago, he served on the board of the Boulder Green Building Guild where he chaired the Education Committee and spurred the development of the Boulder Green Building Journal. Active in energy conservation research for over 40 years, he has broad experience in fenestration systems, lighting and daylighting technologies, air handling and conditioning systems, controls, and energy-efficient greenhouses. Larry has conceived and directed a number of energy research, development, and demonstration projects, including several large commercial greenhouses whose carbon footprints are tiny. He is the co-holder of five US patents and has authored over 200 publications and reports to clients including dozens in the daylighting and greenhouse fields. Larry did undergraduate work in Physics and Philosophy at Davidson and Rhodes colleges and holds a PhD in Philosophy from Syracuse University.
