Installation, maintenance and repair of today's heating and cooling equipment is complex, requiring skills in refrigeration, electrical, electronics and air flow management.

At this training we will address HVAC Quality Installation & Commissionsing "Best Practices”.

PRPA will also address the HVAC Commissioning Form

This form is used where the HVAC Tech evaluates the performance of the system either after a new or replacement unit has been installed or troubleshooting an existing unit when efficiency or customer comfort is an issue. It is industry accepted procedures to document the system recording the unit’s present time operation -- it’s like a stress test to evaluate problems or set a baseline. Without this being done, no Tech can leave a job and say truthfully the HVAC system is operating at maximum performance!

We will cover the following topics as part of this discussion:

High Efficiency Requirements

1. EER/SEER/IEER and economizers

Cx Form Review:

1. Load calc (Manual N)

- Assessment for retrofit and new construction

2. Supply air flow measurement: tools, methods

3. Outside air flow: design criteria, control, tools, methods

4. Air conditioning: refrigerant charge

5. Economizer: control type, operation verified

6. Verification of operating sequences

Additionally we will cover the contractor and RSP lists and how to be on them

This referral list iscomprisedof highly skilled heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) contractors that are dedicated to providing "best practice" services to maximize the comfort, efficiency, safety and durability of customers' HVAC systems.

Free breakfast (or snacks if afternoon) will be served and you will be able to meet the energy assessment companies that will perform energy assessments to pre-qualify your project for the BEG.
