New Mortgage Financing Makes Residential Energy Renovations Easy and Affordable:

Recent changes in the mortgage industry have created an unprecedented opportunity for widespread adoption of energy efficiency by average homeowners.  Learn what these changes are, why they are important, and what you can do to take advantage of the opportunity and share in the success.  


Elevations CU EnergySmart Loan Program 

Jeremy Epstein, Finance Specialist for Boulder County’s EnergySmart program will be presenting on the new Elevations Energy Loan, provided in conjunction with EnergySmart and The Denver Energy Challenge and serviced by Elevations Credit Union.

Elevations Energy Loans interest rates will start as low as 2.75% for home loans and 3.75% for business, with 3, 5, 7 and 10 year terms available.  Homeowners can apply for a minimum loan of $500 and a maximum of $25,000, while businesses can apply for a loan between $1,000 and $150,000.

Come learn about how this loan ties into the free Energy Advising service already offered by EnergySmart and Denver Energy Challenge, and how you can take advantage of this new program for qualified energy efficiency and renewable energy updates.

 

Speakers: 

Stephen Ponce-Pore is the Energy Programs Manager for the Bank of Colorado.He developed the Colorado ENERGY STAR Mortgage - a partnership with the Governor's Energy Office to provide reduced mortgage rates to homeowners that renovate their homes for energy efficiencyor to purchase anew ENERGY STAR Home. He is actively involved in the development of additional loan programs for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects through his involvement with the FREE Network (Financial Resources for Energy Efficiency). Most recently, he led the Bank of Colorado in its successful bid to become a provider of the new PowerSaver Loan from HUD.

Jeremy Epstein is the  Energy Efficiency and Finance Specialist for Boulder County. He has been the acting project lead on the development of this loan program for close to a year, in addition to managing various aspects of the commercial EnergySmart program.  
Before coming to Energysmart, Jeremy worked as a project manager for a green construction and remodel company as well as a consultant in developing green building programs for a leading firm out of Portland.
