Details: Building Green Is No Longer Enough, It is Time To Build Resilient!
Green building means paying attention to climate data and local weather patterns in design - but what happens when the data driving the design might change?
Designing buildings to effectively meet the conditions and realities of a Post Carbon, Climate-Changed world may require a shift in our current understanding of what constitutes good building design and sound building practice. Long term, climate appropriate buildings will require more resilient design than currently reflected in today's design standards.
Our conversation will explore what this might mean for buildings truly built for the next 100 years.

Details Do you prefer T8 over T5 lamps? When is it best to install T5 lamps? Come to this session and learn about how to choose between T8's and T5's and the best strategies for retrofits. In recent years we have seen improvements in high bay fluorescents that offer great energy savings and performance compared to existing HIDs. Learn about how T8's often beat out the T5's, with lower lamp replacement costs for the end-user, better lumens/watt (approx 20% better), and lower luminaire costs. But don't completely throw out the value of the T5's; they are smaller, lighter and easier to install and for the right application may still be preferable.
